Lifestyle changes, diet, exercise, and medications can help. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of hormone imbalance using Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. We have joined the Mesopellet® concept of utilizing customized pellets in order to restore hormone imbalances to their normal physiological levels. We use blood work to follow changing trends in hormone levels for each patient. We also treat and manage osteoporosis, treatments include the “basic CDE’s” -- calcium(C), vitamin D (D), weight-bearing exercise (E), prevention of Falls (F), and medical management to prevent and reverse the effects of osteoporosis.
Bio Idenitcal Hormones
Dr. Ghozland has joined Mesopellet® in his practice to deliver the most effective delivery system in Bio-Identical Hormones. These pellets are approximately the size of a lentil and are derived from botanical products, mostly soy products and formulated and customized just for you in a compound pharmacy. The reason he uses Bio-Identical Hormones is that they possess the identical structure of human hormones inserted under local anesthesia. The procedure is simple, after local anesthesia is administered the pellet is placed painlessly under the skin either in the hip or buttocks. The whole insertion procedure takes around 10 – 15 minutes, and each implantation can last up to 4 months. These pellets use a combination of estrogen, progestin, testosterone and other hormones to customize each pellet to specifically fit each individual patient need. Dr. Ghozland uses his expertise in hormones in correlation with extensive blood work to bring our patients just the right amount of hormones for their body physiology.

Estrogen
The three main circulating estrogens in females are:
Estrone E1 – the primary estrogen produced in menopause
Estradiol E2 – this is the most potent and and major estrogen component produced by the ovary prior to menopause.
Estriol E3 – this estrogen is clinically effective for the treatment of menopausal symptoms including vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse.
Progesterone
This hormone is commonly prescribed for women on hormone replacement therapy to counteract the higher levels of estrogen. Most commonly used in women with a uterus, in order to minimize the risk of developing cancer of the uterus. There are also proven benefits that the combination of estrogen and progesterone show a beneficial effect on lipid and cholesterol profiles.
