Vaginoplasty is not generally painful, especially due in part to the fact that a laser is used to minimize bleeding and scarring. You can expect a bit of pain, some swelling, redness, and discomfort in the area, but nothing that should require anything more than over-the-counter pain medication to treat. Cold compresses can also help to reduce the swelling and pain of the area, helping you heal faster.

After the first few days of the procedure, you will find yourself able to more easily walk around and sit with less discomfort. After two weeks, you should be generally healed to the point where you can return to light exercise, as well as work and other general daily activities.

Are There Risks to a Vaginoplasty?

As will all surgical procedures, there are indeed risks to consider. However, the possibilities of complications arising are very small. Some risks that you need to be on the lookout for include redness, bruising, and severe pain that do not subside, heavy bleeding, and signs of infection.
